Review: Neo-Medrol Acne Lotion

Neo Medrol Acne Lotion
Neo Medrol Acne Lotion for cystic acne, treating acne

Hello loves, I hope you are all doing well. I would like to invite you all to come join us in our blog hop to find lots of amazing blogs. The blog hop runs till midnight tomorrow {EEST} so if you add your link don't forget to check back and visit the links which will be added later on. Say hi to the other bloggers and let them know how you found them.

Now on to my review of the Neo Medrol Acne Lotion. As you may or may not know I have oily skin which is prone to Acne. Like everyone, I hate having breakouts and have been using this product to battle acne for years. This is my holy grail skincare product. I seriously cannot imagine having to live without it.

The packaging looks a little bit too medicine-like {if you know what I mean}. But then again, it pretty much is acne medicine for external use. It contains Methylprednisolone, Neomycin and other ingredients which sound too scientific for a lot of us to understand. From what I read, Neomycin helps kill the bacteria which may cause or increase acne while Methylprednisolone is an anti-inflammatory agent which helps reduce redness and swelling which is associated with acne.

Basically what this means is that this product helps to reduce the inflammation of acne and makes your skin smooth in areas where you had bad breakouts. All you need to do is apply it once or twice daily on clean makeup-free skin {I apply it once at night and sleep with it thereby leaving it on for about 8 hours}. You will notice a change from about the 2nd or 3rd day although it depends on the level of swelling. If you have just minor breakouts and apply it at night then you may see changes already the next morning. This product is not expensive but unfortunately is not sold everywhere and only by prescription. So if you have cystic acne and want to give this a go, please speak with your dermatologist.

Quick Summary
Likes: Helps clear acne and sometimes acne scars.
Dislikes: None.
Verdict: Always repurchasing. I cannot live without it.

What's your go to acne treatment?

  1. Methylprednisolone is a hormone meant to battle everything from inflammations to lots of serious deceases.

I believe it works great, but you have to be extremely careful while using it, and my dermatologist forbids me to use any hormone ointments for longer than a weeks or so, because of the long list of complications.

    1. Usually, a lot of products are used to battle more than 1 infection/ disease. All these products have their side effects if not used properly.
I am not saying it is necessary to use it every day of your life. I am just saying it is a great product which helps when you have breakouts or if you have serious acne. Yes it is to be used carefully and with proper instructions from your doctor.

  2. Thanks for sharing, i'm always looking for new acne treatments. I found your blog through the Follow Them blog hop and i'm a new bloglovin follower. :)
