Review: Christian Eyebrow Makeup Kit

Hello my lovely readers, I hope you are doing well. I am sure we are all excited for the Easter holidays with plans to munch on chocolate, paint eggs and more. What do you do for Easter? Any traditions that you have in your family? I would love to know.

I have wanted to do this review for a very long time. Actually ever since I got this and that has been months and months. But because I had some problems with the photos I took before I started using it all up and then broke it eventually I could not post this. I am glad that I have sorted it all out and I can finally tell you about this kit.

When I first tell someone that I use the Christian Eyebrow Makeup Kit, everyone is like "Huh?! What's that?" or " Cool, I never heard of them before". Well, I am sure when you read the post title a lot of you thought the same.

Having carefully done filled in eyebrows is really something amazing and you will not believe me until you actually try it. After that, you will definitely be like "Where have I been?! Why haven't I been filling them in before?!". Believe me, I don't think I have gone out without actually doing my eyebrows since then {Except makeup free days}. You have probably seen different eyebrow kits and eyebrow pencils all over the internet like the MUA Eyebrow Kit, ELF Eyebrow Kit, NYX Eyebrow Kit, Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil and the rest.

Christian Eyebrow Kit is a semi permanent eyebrow powder which is available in 8 shades. The kit contains the powder itself, 3 stencils and a brush. Because my eyebrows are really dark, I use "Irid Brown".

Christian Eyebrow Kit

Christian Eyebrow Kit content, Christian Eyebrow Kit Review

I loved the packaging when I got it because it was white, clean and nice. I know a lot of eyebrow kits come with more that 1 colour and a fixing gel but for me just having the powder is fine. The brush is amazing, maybe the best brush I have had. It is soft, applies the powder evenly with absolutely no problem and didn't shed even though I have washed it quite a bit. I am so glad I have it now and would probably use it if it fits a different kit.

I like that it is small and I can put it in my everyday makeup bag. What I also experienced was that the stencil marked natural fits my eyebrow curve and type perfectly. I love using the stencil as it is so easy to apply and you have the perfect shape. All you have to do is put the stencil over your eyebrow so the shape fits, take some powder on the brush and go over your eyebrows a few times. What I always had a problem with was that the edges of my eyebrows would never look like I wanted. Now they do!

What is a big turn of for me with this product is the price. I mean spending €20 on an eyebrow kit is absolutely ridiculous! I do love it and think it is likely the best thing I spent €20 on, but there are so many other kits to try. So no matter how much I love it, I will be looking into purchasing another brand next month and trying that out. If it is as good then I will switch but if it is not, I will stick to using the Christian eyebrow Kit.

Quick summary

Likes: Clean packaging, Easy application

Dislikes: Expensive
Verdict: Maybe repurchase if others are not as good for me.

Have you used the Christian eyebrow kit? What do you use?

The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop {5}

Hello my gorgeous readers and welcome back from the weekend. I had a great weekend. On Saturday my best friend and I went to the salon to get my hair straightened. I will be posting about that sometime soon after I wash my hair so I can tell you how well it worked out. After that we had some well deserved sushi for dinner and then I went home to spend the evening with hubby. On Sunday, I spent the entire day working on my report and I am glad to say I am basically done. All that is left is for me to write up and introduction and a conclusion. So I am very excited. :)

I hope you also had a great weekend. I would love to know what you did. This week for our hop I thought I would change it up a bit and have CATS! They are, furry cute and I love them so much. I mean who doesn't?! (well, unless you are allergic) Animals are such great anti-depressants that even when you are having the most awful day ever and you see a cats glance on you with that little meow, it just makes everything a million times better.

The Beauty Blogger Tag

Hi lovelies, I hope you are all feeling great today. It is sunny but still cold and we are all looking forward to when the winter boots and coats would come off and we can have some fun. Last week I was tagged by the lovely Luchessa from Beauty Expression to do this tag. I love Luchessa a bunch and I love doing tags, but I guess I was putting this one off a bit because I knew it had 32 questions and that meant I had to spend quite some time on it.

But anyway, it is done now and I am glad to have done it. I really do hope you get all the way to the 32nd question. It isn't so boring, I promise {pinky swear}.

The Beauty Blogger tag, blogger tag, get to know me, beauty
Image: We heart it, edited by me
1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight? Curly. I am half African.

2. What is your natural hair colour? My hair is a little bit weird in that it has always been brown but I have a section at the back of my head that is more black than brown.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon? I have never dyed my hair. I have used henna on my hair to add some golden effect but other than that nothing else.

4. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it? I tend to change things up a bit because wearing the same thing can be boring. So sometimes, I am in office wear other times I am more laid back.

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon? I do my own mani/ pedi. I used to have gel nails at some point and went to the salon to do them. But for over a year now I have been doing it myself and I recently got a quick dry polish from Orly so it takes me 1/3 of the time to do my nails now. :)

6. How often do you change your nail polish? It depends on the polish I use. Some of them chip in like 2-3 days while others last longer. It also depends on when I have time after work. I must confess that sometimes I just take the polish off and put on a protective coat and that's it.

7. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer? I polish my toes mostly spring/ summer, less during the winter.

8. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup? It usually takes me about 20-30 mins on weekdays and a bit longer is I am going out on the weekend and want to do eye shadow.

9. What do you do first, face or eyes? I always do my face first because if your base is crappy that day then the makeup in general wouldn't be as good. After my face I do my eyes, eyebrows and then lips.

10. Do you “collect” makeup or just buy what you need when you need it? I would say a little bit of both. Depending on the product, I may have more of them or less. I am always weak towards lipstick because they are all different and almost no 2 lipsticks I found are identical.

11. How often do you wear false eye lashes? Basically, never. I think my lashes on their own are really great and curled up already plus I never got the hang of applying the false lashes. The glue always seemed strange and they would never stick properly so I can wear them all day. So I just didn't bother for a while. recently though I got the duo glue and plan on trying it out this weekend or next when I get the time.

12. Do you do a full face of makeup every day? On a daily basis, I don't use concealer but I always do the a full face which consists of mineral powder foundation, eyebrows, eyes and lips. Eyebrows are a total must if I am going somewhere. I am so in love with how they look when done.

13. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone, or with family? No I don't. I like to have makeup-free days as much as I can.

14. Will you leave the house without makeup? No I would not. I still have some acne scars on my face which I am trying to get rid of so I try to avoid going out without foundation.

15. How many high-end products do you have? Almost all my makeup is high street as I can never give myself enough justification to get high-end. Unless it is much needed or a present from someone.

16. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed? Sometimes, it does happen that I run a plan quickly through my head knowing what I have in my wardrobe, but mostly I just get up and put something together quickly. Special occasions are always planned though (I think basically everyone does that).

17. How often do you change your handbag? During the winter, I almost never change my bag as it goes perfectly with my winter coat. But during spring and summer, I would say every 3rd day although it really depends on what I am wearing.

18. What time do you get up and go to sleep? I work everyday from 9am-6pm so I wake up at 7am weekdays and go to sleep whenever I feel beat which is usually at 11/12pm. On the weekends though I wake up at about 11am and then go to sleep at probably 3am.

19. How often or when do you work out? I usually go to the gym, minimum once a week but recently I have been really busy so I haven't been there in like a month. Going back soon though. :)

20. Left handed or right-handed? Right-handed.

21. How tall are you? I’m average height, about 5’7.

22. Do you speak a foreign language? Yes. Other than English, I speak fluent Russian, basic German and basic Latvian. Totally forgotten French and Spanish but really need to start working on them.

23. How many pets do you have? I have just 1. A Yorkshire dog named 'Candy'. She is absolutely the sweetest and one of the closest friends I have. :)

24. How often are you on blogger? I usually check my blogger about a few times a day but sometimes when I am really busy just once. I have blog posts up whenever I can that could range from 1 time a week (when I am totally swamped) to 4-5 times when I have the time.

25. Do you read comments posted on blogs? Yes, I always see what others have said on the post. Firstly, because if I have a question it is great to sometimes already see the answers in the comments. Secondly, because sometimes I find great bloggers that way. :)

26. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts? Sometimes I do, but other times not really.

27. How did you come up with your blog name? When I was starting out, I wanted to have more of a fashion blog and so I wanted the name to have 'fashion' in it so it is easy to recognize. And then "Cherryfashion" popped up and I thought it sounded great. Now that I have spent a while blogging, I understand that I do not want my blog only about fashion. My blog is about fashion, beauty, life, photography and anything else that interests me. Sometimes, I must admit I consider changing the name but I cannot seem to come up with one I love.

28. What kind of camera do you use for photographs? I use the Samsung GX-20 which I think is a great camera for the price. I am thinking of getting the Canon EOS 5D Mark III in about 1-2 years or whatever is the most recent at that time.

29. How often do you clean your house? Totally depends on time.

30. What is your favorite color? I do not have a favourite colour. I like basically all colours, I tend to really fall for things coral or mint but other than that I would totally wear anything green, purple, yellow, blue, neon and others.

31. Do you swear? I try not to, but end up doing it anyway.

32. What are you doing with the rest of your day? Working, and then probably have sushi dinner as I have not had it in a while.

I would like to tag all my readers who want me to get to know them better. If you do this tag, let me know and I will add you to the list.

The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop {#4}

Hello gorgeous readers! Welcome back from the weekend. I am sure you all had an amazing weekend and if you didn't well, we have the whole week ahead to be amazing. I had a fun weekend even though I didn't do so much. I worked on my internship report and had time to sleep. If you know me, then you probably know I love my sleep and when I am sleep deprived, I am not the happiest of bunnies. So the weekend was great for me.

Anyway, I got up today feeling all beauty inspired and thought about what exactly to share with you today. And then it hit me, what more beauty inspiration can I bring that words from the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn?! I totally agree with this quote and love it so much, so I just wanted to remind you of it.

'It's almost Spring' Outfit

Hello my lovelies! How have you all been? I am really busy at work and I have about 8-10 pages left on my internship report and then I will be back fully with so many new posts. I know right now everyone is all panicked about Google Reader closing down but I thought I would have a different post as there are already too many places with this news. I just thought I would share my idea of a perfect outfit for today with you.

I know it is the middle of March and everyone is already excited for Spring and all the colours it will bring us, unfortunately in Latvia it is still winter. Yes, it is sunny and a totally different feeling from the rest of the winter,  but it is too damn cold! Right now, it is -12C. Sorry, but seriously?! WTF!!!!! I personally barely got through 3 months of the cold and now I get another one?! This isn't a beauty store with a buy 3 get 1 free offer. { My apologies for the rant, much needed sometimes} Anyway, I am sure you get what I mean right?

So, at some point today I had 1 thought of what would be the ideal outfit to wear in this weather. It is sunny so we want a bit of colour but same time it is too cold for shorts or a skirt, plus we want to be comfortable in the cold. And then it hit me that this would be great.
'It's almost Spring' Outfit, Stylish winter, What to wear when cold

Let me know what you think. Would you wear this outfit?

The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop {#3}

Hi lovelies, welcome back from the weekend. I hope you all a good one, or at least better than mine anyway. Only good thing this weekend was seeing my girlfriends and having some time to spend with my other half.

I have not been posting as much as my deadline for my internship report is approaching and I really need to finish up with it. Once I hand it in, I would probably have some more free time. I know that there is no rainbow without some rain and as such I am staying strong and getting things done. I just wanted to take a moment to share this image with you as I believe that sometimes we all need some inspiration and reminding that everything will be okay.
