The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop {#17}

Hello lovelies. I hope you had a fab weekend. It is Ligo/Jani here in Latvia which is the biggest festival of the year and it is to celebrate midsummer. It usually takes place on the 23rd and 24th of June each year and people usually spend it at the country side making barbeque, singing and jumping over the  bonfire. Even though, I am not at the country side this year, I still had a lot of fun yesterday and will be meeting up with a friend today.

So that's all about the holiday and now it is time to get on with The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop.

This week we do not have any co-hosts. If you are interested in co-hosting, please email Nia.

In the share section today, we have a nail art tutorial which we absolutely love. The colours are amazing, and the finished product looks very interesting. It was inspired by the 2013 movie "The Great Gatsby" and we think that Maria did a fantastic job in making it into nail design.

5 Beach Essentials

Hello lovely readers. I hope you are having a warm sunny day where you are, or even if not as warm but still sunny. My day is great and I am heading to the movies after work so that is something I am looking forward to.

I did a 5 Summer Must-haves post last week and thought it would be great to do one about the beach as I love the beach and I love sun bathing.

5 Beach Essentials

Bikini
This is very obvious isn't it?! No one is going to go sun bathing without a bikini. So the most important thing you need when heading off to the beach is a gorgeous bright summery bikini. Make sure you are comfortable to be seen in the bikini you pick so you do not end up hiding from everyone. If you do not like a bikini, pick another swim suit in which you feel fab.

Sunscreen
This is the second most important thing you can ever think of taking to the beach. Even if you do not easily get a sunburn, it is still very important to use sunscreen as the ultraviolet radiation which reaches the earth from the sun may harm the skin. So be sure to always put on some sunscreen!

Sun glasses
I will never in my right mind leave my house going out in the summer without a pair of sun glasses. If I ever do, it means I will have to squint all day and that as I heard can cause wrinkles {which is not something we want}. So if you are planning to spend some time on the beach then it is very important you do not forget your sun glasses!

Music
If you are going with your other half who likes to play beach football, your phone/ music player + headphones will be your best friends. If on the other hand, you are hitting the beach with your girlies then you probably do not need headphones as I am sure you will have tons to chat about.

Towel
A very warm summer means the water will be warm and for me that means swimming. So whether you need the towel to lay on as you get a sun bath or dry yourself after a swim {although technically you can air-dry if you are going to play beach volleyball or some sort of game where you move around}, it might be a good idea to have one with you at the beach.

Those are my 5 most essential items at the beach. I would love to know what it is you cannot go to the beach without.

Have a fab day and why not enter these giveaways while you are here:

The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop {#16}

Hello lovelies. I hope you all had a great weekend and are feeling rested today. I am well rested and ready for another week of work. I will be going on vacation in less than a month and I am really excited as my mum and I will be doing a bit of travelling around Europe. I will tell you about that later, for now it's time for The Friendly Bunch Blog Hop.

Cherryfashion Beauty Expression by Luchessa Image Map

Today I am happy to have another amazing co-host with us. We seem to be so lucky with our co-hosts. I bet that is because there are so many amazing bloggers out there.

This week we have an amazing fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger who loves murder mysteries, watching Dr. Who, ice cream, reading and obviously blogging. By the way she is doing an amazing job blogging and loves meeting new people so be sure to stop by her blog and say hi.

Meet our co-host for this week:

If you are interested in co-hosting the hop, please email Nia.

Moving on to our share section, we have an accessory DIY that you should all try. We have all heard and seen the statement necklace trend. We have also seen how much some of them cost, and some of us may feel we do not want to get so many of these necklace. Why not make one?!

All you will need are metal washers and a ribbon. We stumbled upon this amazing idea on Nested and decided it is a must share.

Source
Now if you want something fancier or do not like the washers idea, try using another shade of ribbon {something bright like fuchsia or neon would look great} and changing the washers to a bold chain which you can get in a hobby store.

On to the blog hop! Link up and go get some supplies to try out this idea.

Meet Dalayna from Pointing Up

Hello there! My name is Dalayna from Pointing Up. My blog is all about "words, love, and actions that point to Christ." I suppose it is a lifestyle blog, with some photography, fashion, thoughts, ramblings, adventures, and the like. No matter what the post title, I hope and strive for it all to be dripping with Jesus. I do have many loves and many interests, so content is quite diverse, but no matter what I love for you to be a part of it! It is such a joy to share, connect, and stock (just kidding!) wonderful bloggers from all over the world; sharing joy, beauty, and love, things that can connect us all.

Meet Rebecca from A Beautiful Ruckus

Hi there! My name is Rebecca and my hubby, Sean, and I have 2-year-old boy/girl/boy/girl quadruplets! I write a blog at abeautifulruckus.com about our crazy, wonderful life raising our kids. Our blog started as a way to document our pregnancy, NICU experience, and the milestones we've hit while raising quadruplets in Kansas City, and has evolved to include lots of other topics as well! You'll find lots of tips and tricks for raising multiples or large families, posts on motherhood and marriage (and how they are nothing like what I thought they would be!), meal strategies, recipes, crafts, and, of course, some really fabulous giveaways from some big brands! We also host a Little Things blog link-up, so if you are a blogger, keep an eye out for that! Our kids keep us busy, and we love sharing our adventures with them while navigating life. We also love meeting new people and hope you will stop by to enter our giveaways, ask questions, or just to say, "hi!"

Told you they were awesome didn't I? I hope you stopped by their blogs and social media channels to give them a follow. If you still haven't done that, you definitely should!

Best of luck everyone!

5 Summer Must-haves

Hello my darling readers, I hope you are having a great week. I have been missing out on outfit posts because outfits of the day are hard when you come home to cloudy skies or rain. But I will be sharing more of my outfits with you once it is back warm and sunny over here.

I was going through my closet on the weekend and came up with the idea for this post. These are 5 items {in no specific order} which I think every lady should definitely have for the warm sunny period.

5 Summer Must haves

1. Maxi skirt
This is one of my favourite pieces of clothing for the summer. I love the ones which are made of chiffon and have shorter inner skirt. It gives me the opportunity to look acceptable yet comfortable at work when worn with a blazer. I also sometimes like the fact that it hides my legs. I cannot tell you the number of times this skirt has saved me. Imagine it is so hot out you cannot imagine wearing jeans, you forgot to shave your legs in the morning {yes, we have those days} and you need to be out the house in 20minutes. Get the picture? Put on a blouse and a maxi skirt, do your makeup and your problem is solved.

2. Bikini
A bikini in a fun colour is a must! For me Bikini screams holiday/ fun/ sun bathing. Yes, I know it may seem that I am quite tanned as is, but I also get quite pale in the winter. I prefer my skin to have a warmer tone to it and that is why I sun bathe.

3. Cross-body bag
I cannot explain how essential these are for going out. During the summer, I go out and do things outdoors more often than in the winter. This is for no other reason than the fact that winters are very cold here and I just am not adapted to them. I take my cross-body bags when going out after work in the evenings, on weekends and bike riding.

4. Sandals
A cute pair of sandals is always important. Yes there are some of us who are heel queens but even we like to occasionally wear some flats. Days when you need to do a lot of running around or are just too tired to be bothered with heels, you can always go to a trusty pair of good sandals.

5. Collar sleeveless blouse
I have recently fallen in love with collared sleeveless blouses. Somehow I just don't seem to find the ones I can justify the purchase of. I have seen them in so many colours and designs I could go on and on. What I like about them is they give you the possibility to look sophisticated yet very stylish. You can wear them just as is or throw on a blazer and have a more office look to it. There are so many opportunities. I want to get my hands on these and start experimenting with outfits.

Sweet Summer Swap

Hello lovelies. At the beginning of summer, Luchessa and Sabrina got together and organized the Sweet Summer Swap. This was a swap event in which everyone from around the world was allowed to take part. You get paired up with a partner and them purchase each other things you think they would like with a limit of $20 {excluding shipping}.

I got paired with a lovely lady from Spain called Gemma who blogs at My Adventures in Nail Art. She is such a sweet young lady and does the most amazing things with nail art. And be sure they are all hand painted. I remember stopping by her blog to get to know her and thought "OMG".

Anyway, Gemma sent me a package which contained some really amazing items. I am excited to try everything out as I have not tried any of the products included {oh, well except the chuppa chups which is technically not a product}. She also included an amazing letter in such a cute envelop {unlike me who couldn't find one so I sent a card of Riga}.

Here are a few items which I would classify as skincare products. An anti-stress mask which will definitely come in handy as I handle my full time job and master's thesis. A foot scrub and balm which are her absolute favourite summer beauty. And a soap from a local cosmetics company in Cordoba.

There were also a few other beauty products and things which includes an Anny nail polish in "let's dance", a kiko eye pencil in aqua {cannot wait to try it out} candy and the lovely letter.

Isn't it amazing?! I absolutely love my package!!! I know Gemma may think it doesn't seem much. But quality is better than quantity and I really appreciate you taking the time to pick all these things out for me.

I picked out a few things also for Gemma which I liked myself and thought would make her happy, so if you would like to see what I sent her, then stop by her blog and say hi while you are at it.

Review: Qoileez

Hello my darlings. A while ago I was contacted by a representative at Qoileez to ask if I would like to receive a sample of their product & host a giveaway. I wasn't sure what Qoileez was so I checked out their website.

Well, good thing I was home because I screamed! Why?! Well because Qoileez turned out to be something I had always wanted as a child back in Nigeria but they weren't sold there. It was one of my childhood dreams to actually own a pair of these and I was absolutely in shock that it was coming true at 22. {Who said dreams don't come true!} I was so excited that I decided I just had to review them. I would like to say a huge thank you for making a dream come true without even knowing it.

Qoileez is a brand that sells accessories which can be used for your hair, pencils, knitting needles or anything else you come up with that you would like to design. They are small elastic plastic coils which can be worn in different ways. I personally like to wear them in my hair, which you can see in the last picture.

Qoileez comes in different colours and designs. You can find dots, stars, stripes, leopard design or even mixed. As I couldn't pick which design or colour I wanted. I though taking the mixed pack would be amazing. And it is! I absolutely love them and plan on wearing them often this summer.

These accessories are also super affordable. They cost just $4.99 for a 4 piece pack which I think is great as I would love to get some more fun colours for myself. The company also ships internationally which makes no problem for anyone ordering.

Likes - Price, Fun
Dislikes - None
Verdict - Personally purchasing more colours

Did you have these as a kid? What do you think?

Review: MUA Love Hearts Lip Balm {Hot Lips}

Hello my gorgeous readers. I hope you are all having a lovely day. My day is not so great but I hope it will get better once I am home. A really long time ago {sometime in December last year} I made my first MUA order and loved everything I got. So now I am finally getting around to reviewing some of it {too many products and not enough time}.

In my order I got a lot of lip products because well, I am just a little lip crazy. I got 2 items from the "Love Hearts Lip Balm" collection, one of which was "Hot Lips". This is how the packaging looks and the swatch when applied.

MUA Love Hearts Lip Balm, Love hearts lip balm hot lips
Love hearts lip balm hot lips, MUA Love hearts lip balm review
Love hearts lip balm hot lips swatch
Face of the day with love hearts lip balm

The packaging of the Love Hearts Lip Balm collection has a bigger radius and is flatter than the usual jars. I am guessing that the weight is probably the same but this was my first time getting such a jar and it felt weird at first {probably like for 5 seconds} but I was too excited to pay attention to that because I could not wait to use it.

Now I am sure you already noticed from the swatch that this is not your usual transparent lip balm. These ones have a little bit of colour. The "Hot Lips" for example gives a nice red tone to your lips. It isn't as opaque as lipstick, but not as clear as balm. Come to think of it, it kind of has this gloss like kind of finish but in a jar. So I am not usually one to like glosses but that is because of the oily feel I get from most of them. This one on the other hand doesn't give me that if just applied to clear lips which is probably why I love it so much. It is soft and looks lovely.

Now price....They are super affordable. And by super affordable I mean they cost £2. {Yes!} Even if you are ordering from somewhere in Europe like I did, it is still totally worth it. Just pick about 5 items at a time and pay for shipping once.

Quick Summary
Likes - Not oily, Price
Dislikes - None
Verdict - Repurchasing

Have you used this lip balm? What do you think?

Hello my lovely readers, I hop you are having a fabulous sunny day. Today I am part of not 1 but 2 linkups. You are probably wondering how that happened. Well, the lovely Maria of Agape Love was looking for someone to co-host her beauty linkup and as you can find a lot of beauty posts on my blog, I though "why not!"

The blogger community is a lot of fun and there are so many amazing beauty bloggers out there that I have not found yet but would love to. So today I am co-hosting the Makeup Monday Linkup.

I have wanted to paint my nails ombre for as long as the trend started but somehow I just hadn't done that as I thought it required just a little bit more time that I had to spare during the weekend.

Well, I finally did it and in Cherryfashion colours too!

Ombre Nails, How to ombre nails

It turned out to be much faster that I though and summed up to a 4 step process. Just follow the pictures and comments below.

For this look, I used the following nail polishes -

Orly Ancient Jade
Flormar Nail care Max Growth

Now in our share section today, we have an interesting beauty secret to share. Quite a number of you most likely have at least 1 MAC lipstick. Well, not everyone has access to them or can justify paying for them at that price. So we found a post about MAC dupes on Life Unsweetened which seemed like a must share. Take a look.

Minty White Floral

Hello lovelies, I did my nails a while ago and never got to show you so I though I would do that today. It is very easy using nail polish and stickers. As it is finally warm here in Latvia I am really getting into my colourful swing and having a great time so I decided to use a minty polish that day.

I used the Orly nail polish in frisky and white floral stickers which I got at the supermarket. I made a little bit of a mistake and put 1 sticker a bit too far left but it still looks so great. I love how it came out and will definitely be using some other colours with these stickers.

Do you ever feel like you are not really good at designing your own nails but still want to get lovely nails for a reasonable price? If yes, then try using different types of stickers. Maybe even combining more than 1 type.

Last day for 20% off all ad spaces. Get one here.

Let me know what you think.
