Review: Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment

Hello beauties! I hope you all had a fab weekend. Hopefully you've all had dinner, now why not grab a cuppa and let's have a little sit down. Today, I'd like to discuss a skincare product: Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment. As you probably already guessed, this is a product designed for those dreaded zits {What is it about them that makes them tend to pop up before a big occasion?!}. The description on the product says "Strikes the spot with lightning precision. Dab on this super effective tea tree and witch hazel gel to zap zits before they show themselves". So, I've used this multiple times and thought I'd finally write a review.

Now packaging wise, I like the product as it is in a bottle with a pump. But unfortunately, I don't like this specific pump because it dispenses way too much product. And if I could find a way to make the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer dispense just enough product as I need, you'd think I'd be able to handle this one. Unfortunately no. So I just end up finding places to apply the rest that comes out in that 1 pump or washing it down the drain. The smell of this product isn't bad {and I say that from experience. I've used some really bad smelling acne treatments}. It smells sort of like herbs which makes sense if you look at the ingredients.

On to the product, the Grease Lightning Spot Treatment is a clear gel which is made up of natural ingredients. Some of these include antibacterial and antiseptic ingredients such as thyme, rosemary, tea tree and sea water, antioxidant-rich ingredients such as witch hazel extract and grape juice, as well as soothing and healing ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Lavender Oil.

The idea behind the product is that once you feel there is a zit coming, you apply the gel on that area and let it sit for a couple of hours. The gel is supposed to help clear the zit without drying out your skin. Depending on the zit, you may have to apply this a couple of times and then your zit should be gone.

But even when products are supposed to do certain things, they don't always work for everyone. Unfortunately, this was one of those cases when a product just doesn't fit me. I've heard people talk about how amazing this product is and I'm sure some of you even have it as a holy grail product, but it just didn't zap anything for me.

So that's my opinion on this product. It didn't work for me, but it might for you. So maybe save yourself the spending and ask for a sample {hopefully they can give you enough to last a couple of applications}.

Overall Summary
Price -  €8.40 {45g}
Likes - Smells ok.
Dislikes - It didn't zap away my zits.
Verdict - Not repurchasing.
Available - Lush stores.

Have you tired this product? Did it work for you?

Summer Greens OOTD

How to style jean shorts
Shirt: Seppala   |   Shorts: Jennyfer |   Sandals: No idea   |   Bag: Thrifted   |   Sunglasses: Reserved
Summer ootd
Accessorising with a green bag, fashion outfit

I hope you are all having a great week. It is a very hot summer day here in Barcelona. I mean I'm used to the heat and all since I lived most of my life in Africa, but even I feel hot. I've been looking through pictures from my last week in Latvia and thought I'd share an OOTD with you because I think they came out pretty great {if I can say so myself}.

These are outfit photos taken from when we visited Rundales Palace. I wanted to keep it casual yet pretty and interesting. And when we found this arc, I just knew it would be the perfect place to take photos.

Have a fab Friday & weekend beauties!

The Summer Tag

Hello beauties, it has been a while but I'm back now. My vacation is over and I successfully moved to Barcelona. I saw this tag a while ago on Ramblings of a Beauty Bird which was created by Makeup Pixi3 and thought I would give it a go.
The Summer Tag

1. What's your favourite thing about Summer?
My favourite thing would have to be the weather. I can wear dresses, skirts, shorts and tops without bothering about a coat, boots or tights. I absolutely love it when it is warm!

2. Do you have a favourite Summer drink?
No, I don't. I usually go for as much water as I can and have some juice.

3. Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
Yes, the beach. For the past couple of years, it has been the beach in Jurmala, Latvia. But since my move, it is now the beach in Barcelona.

4. Favourite makeup look for Summer?
A bronzed natural look.

5. Dresses or skirts?
I think dresses. I love all sorts of pretty summery dresses, they make me feel so girly.

6. Sandals or ballet pumps?
Sandals any day.

7. Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down for Summer?
Even though I love my hair down, in the Summer, I'd prefer to wear it up as it makes me feel really hot when it is down. Been living in a bun lately.

8. Deep smokey eyes or bold lips?
Bold lips definitely.

9. Favourite perfume for Summer?
Marc Jacobs Honey. It has a lovely fruity floral scent. You can find my full review on the Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum.

10. Last but not least, favourite music for Summer?
Anything I can dance to. Me love to dance and sing along.

I'd like to tag all my readers. If you read this post, make sure to do the tag and let me know so I can read it & get to know you better.

Have you done this tag? Link me up so I can check it out.

Hair Growth Journey: 7 Months Update

Hello beauties! I hope you have all been well. I really do hope it is sunny where you are because the weather in Latvia is ridiculous! And not the nice kind of ridiculous! Anyway, if you've been following my hair growth journey, you would probably know I promised to update you on the products I've been using and do a length check every 3 months. Unfortunately, with all the drama of moving, I wasn't able to film that video in May but was finally able to film it last weekend.

To catch up a bit, you can check out my Haircare Routine as of November 2013 right before I started the journey. You can also watch my First Length Check video at the beginning, and my 3 Month Update of my hair growth journey.

Now, it's been 7 months since I started my journey to waist length hair. Which definitely sounds crazy and I knew it will take a lot of effort from my side but I'm up for it. Since my last update, here are the things I have changed:

Biotin pills
I ran out of my 5000mcg pills and got a bottle of Natrol 1000mcg biotin pills to help with hair growth and keep my nails long and strong.

Hair products
I still have a bit of some of my other conditioners and I am trying to use them up. But a while ago I got the Garnier Ultra Doux Reconstructing Mask and I have been loving applying it every weekend on my hair.
I also got a couple of samples of Argan Dew products. I got the Argan Dew Replenishing Hair Mask and Argan Dew Miraculous Argan Oil both of which I reviewed. Their products are amazing! They make my hair super soft and smell lovely.

Why not watch my video for more details and to see the length check. I'm excited to say my hair has grown!

If you like the video, why not give it a thumbs up and subscribe. More videos to come after my move.
