Review: Deliplus Transparent Mascara

Deliplus Transparent Mascara
Deliplus Transparent Mascara Review
Transparent Mascara

I've been a huge fan of the transparent mascara for years now. I think I started off by using the ELF Essential Clear Brow & Lash Mascara, and after that I was hooked. After moving to Barcelona, I was looking for another one to try and ended up finding a local brand which is sold at Mercadona supermarkets.

The Deliplus transparent mascara comes in a transparent mascara tube and you can see the clear gel. I love the colour of the packaging as I've got a thing for pink. Usually, I use the transparent mascara when going to the gym or underneath my everyday mascara. It helps comb out and prime my lashes for the coloured mascara I am going to apply. Obviously with constant use, it gets slightly dirty, but I try to apply it to clean eyelashes to avoid that.

I honestly use this product every single day and think it makes a big difference in how my mascara brushes on and looks afterwards.

Do you use anything to prime your lashes?

Blue hats and white kimnonos at Port Vell Barcelona

Last weekend, we didn't have anything planned so on Sunday hubs suggested we just go for a walk. My friend Luchessa had just sent me this gorgeous watermelon top and I knew I wanted to wear it. I've gotten slightly bored of just the top plus shorts combo so I thought I'd add another item to my outfit which is this Long white kimono I got prior to going on vacation. Honestly, this kimono is the bomb. I love it so much because it is white so it goes with everything and it instantly makes an outfit more stylish. What's even better is it can be worn as a maxi dress {I'll be sure to show you in another post}.

After putting everything on, I felt like there was something missing so I went for my blue fedora. I did get a bit hot afterwards and just put my hair in a ponytail as we were under the sun quite a while. This Zara tote has been my go to this summer as I just love how big it is, and the colour is perfect for summer. I took it on vacation and have been using it for work as well as on the weekends.

When we were at Port Vell, we talked about how great the boat ride in Malta was and how much we'd like to do some more sailing, as well as water and flying activities. I'm really excited for all that and hope we can do something this summer/autumn. I'll be sure to share our adventures with you.

How would you style a white kimono like this?

Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in Eternal Gold

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Gel-Cream Eyeshadow
Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Eternal Gold
Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Eternal Gold Swatch

If you know me, you'd probably already know I cannot say no to a gold eyeshadow. It is my favourite one to wear all year round daytime or evening. The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Gel-Cream Eyeshadows have been getting a lot of hype since they came out, but as I'm not much of a cream product lover, I decided not to give into the hype and just didn't buy them. When I stopped by the drugstore to get a replacement for my Maybelline Satin Brow, the sales assistant let me know there was a discount if I got another product, so I went ahead and did just that.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Gel-Cream Eyeshadow comes in a pot and is a nice creamy consistency which applies smoothly on the eyelids. The product is easiest applied using your fingers, but you can go ahead and use a brush if you would like. I picked up the shade Eternal Gold which is a gorgeous golden yellow shade that would go with any outfit or lip color, and it is my favourite eyeshadow shade. It is quite pigmented so be careful not to go overboard in the daytime. The stay is amazing, especially in this hot weather. I've worn it to work and on the weekends and it stays for a minimum of 8 hours without smudging, creasing or fading away. With this eyeshadow, you do not need an eyeshadow base as the consistency makes it act as an eyeshadow base plus an eyeshadow.

These cream eyeshadows are great for the summer, as powder eyeshadows tend to melt away in all this heat. To be honest, I finally get what all the hype is about and I do not regret giving in to the discount. The amount of product you get for €7 will probably last you a lifetime, so I'd say it is definitely worth the price. It is such a great product to have in your collection, especially if you pick versatile shades.

Overall Summary
Price -  approx. €7
Likes - blends well, doesn't crease or fade.
Dislikes - none atm.
Verdict - picking up another shade.
Available - feeluniqueboots, superdrug.

Hair Transitioning {6 month update}

I cannot believe it has already been 6 months since I started transitioning to my natural hair. If you'd like to know more about my decision to go natural, please visit my post. It has been a journey with more ups than downs. I love reading posts or watching videos from other transitioners or naturals, so I find new things to try out with my hair and I think that has helped a lot in staying motivated. I have been doing a lot of co-washing as opposed to regular shampooing and it works pretty well for me. Some weeks better than others for some reason. All that being said I still shampoo my hair from time to time, just not as often as I used to which has definitely helped with the dryness of my hair. I also try to stick with my deep conditioning once a week and have been using the ORS Hair Mayonnaise as I feel my hair needs more protein. I've been meaning to get the Aphogee 2 step treatment but somehow I just haven't gotten around to it.

Here's a bit of a breakdown of the last 6 months:

First - Third month

In the first 3 months, it was pretty easy taking care of my hair. I just did the same things I usually did before as I didn't have a lot of new growth. I'd cowash my hair, apply some leave in conditioner, seal it with an oil and let it air dry. I would sometimes do a twist out but not necessarily as the new growth wasn't very visible. I was constantly on youtube watching videos and linking pictures on instagram, obviously fantasizing about how my own curls will look like as I honestly couldn't remember.

Fourth - Sixth month

As the length of my new growth increased I realized I can no longer get away with straight hair or a wash and go as the texture didn't match. Since I didn't like going around with two different textures, I ended up living in twist outs or braid outs to try and hide the difference in texture. Recently, I have been stuck in a rut with what to do with my hair because it is getting hotter by the day which makes me wear my hair big a lot less as I get extremely hot and my face just gets a lot oiler than usual. This is when the thoughts of big chopping begin to appear and I start thinking it would be easier if my hair was shorter {which is probably totally not the case}. As I don't usually have a lot of time after washing my hair, I would very often do a 2 braid braidout as it is a great base for other hairstyles.

At this stage is where I got a glimpse of what my curl pattern may look like and this got me extremely excited. Right now, I have about 3 inches of new growth and cannot wait for when my natural hair will be longer and I can cut off all the damaged part. I know it's going to take a while so till then I'll be living in braidouts or twistouts.

If you'd like to know some of the products I've been using, you can check out my Curly Hair  Products Haul. I haven't gotten much more lately but I'll be going back to La Bella Cosmetics this weekend to pick up a few bits.

I'd really appreciate some suggestions of what styles I can do from a braidout or twistout as a ponytail is becoming extremely boring.

If you're also transitioning, tell me about your journey. Naturals, I'd love some tips.

Travel: Segway Tour of Valletta

Riding Segways

Fun on a Segway

View of Malta

While in Malta, we wanted to have a look around the city and I'd heard that it was possible to go on a segway tour. I suggested the idea and a few others found it interesting because you get to ride the segways and see the city much faster than on foot. On Segway Malta we found that it is possible to book different tours you'd like. As we had already been to Mdina, we thought it would be interesting to see Valletta, so we booked an appointment for the 2hr tour which costs 55/person.

We drove to Valetta and were met by the instructor who explained how exactly to ride the segways. I had never tried it before and it looked quite scary, but it wasn't. It was so easy to ride and a lot of fun. The only reason you might find it difficult riding them in Malta is because the island is made up of low hills so you constantly have to ride up and down. Going downhill was scary at first but once I got used to it, it was fine. I only had one unpleasant moment when I hit the segway on my leg while trying to avoid bumping into a car or falling off entirely. But that was a personal decision because I was scared to lean backwards too much in order to stop. If you go riding, don't be like me.

The segway tour also included historic and cultural information about Malta which was led by our instructor. We had a few stops but after the 2 hour ride, my legs felt sort of stiff and hurt a bit. I wasn't expecting it but it's logical as you're balancing on them for 2 hours.

Have you ever tried riding a Segway?

GRWM: Golden Eyes Makeup

I haven't filmed a video in a very long time just because I couldn't find the time. I'm always exhausted in the evenings after work and have tons to do on the weekends. But on my last day of vacation, I had the time and a quiet house to film. I've wanted to do a Get Ready With Me video for a long time so that's what I decided to go for.

I chose a golden eye look as it is perfect for daytime as well as for an evening out if you wear it with a bold lip. This look also goes with whatever outfit you wear so you can wear it during the day and then change your outfit, pop a bold lip and you're good to go for an evening of parties and fun.

I hope you enjoy the video. I'd really love it if you gave the video a thumbs up and subscribed to my channel.

Travel: Malta Boat Trip

Boats in Malta
Cruising on a boat

mini water caves in malta
Enjoying the boat ride with nautica
Beautiful swimming spot in malta

If you follow me on social media you probably already know I spent a week in Malta and just got back. It was such an amazing time with lots of fun with the family and at the same time lots of relaxing. I really cannot wait to go back again.

One of the days was spent cruising on a boat and swimming in the clear blue waters. We rented 2 boats from Nautica as we all couldn't fit on one and had a trip around the waters of Malta. The boat had about 3 cabins but most of us spent the time on top looking at what's around. Everything was so pretty and the boat wasn't too shaky. I'm not one to get sea sick but that might be something important to you if you're thinking of taking a boat out. The weather was very hot so everyone was happy when we finally made a stop to swim.

One of the other families had the snorkeling equipment so I was able to use that to look at all the fishes and how great the water looked underneath. I was actually quite sad I couldn't take underwater photos, and have now decided to get a go pro or a cheaper alternative so if you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate if you could leave them in the comments.

Where are you off to on your summer vacation?

Review: Catrice Lash Boost Lash Extension Fibres

Catrice Lash Boost Lash Extension Fibres
Catrice Lash Boost Lash Extension Fibres Review
Affordable Lash Extension Fibres

We've all heard about fibre lashes {you probably remember the younique one which was all over the internet}. If you haven't, these are basically tiny fibres in a tube similar to a mascara. You need to apply these fibres between coats of mascara, this will add volume and help you achieve longer lashes. Most of the fibre lash products I've come across are quite expensive so when I found the Catrice Lash Boost Lash Extension Fibres, I needed to give it a go to see how it works.

The packaging of the product says to apply one coat of mascara, while the mascara is still moist apply the fibres, and then another coat of mascara to seal the fibres. The lash extension fibres are very easy to use. All you need to do is brush the wand along your lashes the same way you would normally do with mascara. Occasionally, more fibres would come out while you're brushing it on, but that's not a problem as you can get them off very easily. The fibres are white but when you apply another layer or two of mascara over it, that doesn't show. Still, I would prefer if the fibres were black only because applying the product over mascara makes the wand black and it looks dirty.

I have been using this quite a lot and really like the effect. I even got a comment from a friend the first or second day of wearing it saying my lashes look bigger and better. Be careful when using this product though because if the fibres get into your eyes, it could be painful. The best way to get them out is by using water as they are so small you can't really see them but you can feel them.

Overall, I'm very happy with the Catrice Lash Boost Lash Extension Fibres and would recommend them to someone looking to try affordable lash fibres.

Overall Summary
Price -  approx. €6
Likes - adds volume & length.
Dislikes - painful if it gets in your eye.
